August 13 was the last post. Today is October 7. Fifty-five days.
The name stayed up the whole time. The claim stayed up. The writing did not. That gap is not neutral. It looks like a man who talks about DPE and then disappears when Tuesday gets boring.
Writing is hard. Letting the silence grow while the site keeps making promises is worse. So I am restarting now, before the gap becomes the story.
What Changed This Week
Sunday’s sermon was 2 Peter 3. Everything around us is going to be destroyed, Peter says, so what holy and godly lives you should live (2 Peter 3:11). Tuesday night the men’s study was James 4.
Between the two, I stopped arguing.
James asks where the fights and the restlessness come from, and he answers it himself: wanting. Wanting the world’s prizes, and asking God for things with the wrong motive. I read that and recognized my own spreadsheets. Title. Income. Name. A net-worth number I had written down like it was a promise.
I crossed the number off. The plans stay, but they stay open-handed. James 4:15: “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” I have a plan that runs to 2048. I do not own 2048. I do not own Friday.
The question now, before the laptop opens, is what holy and godly looks like in this hour. The scoreboard is faithfulness with what is already in front of me.
That is also why this gap matters, and it is not because of the brand. James 4:17: “Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” I knew to write. I knew to lift on the third day. That is the part I answer for.
What Finished in the Quiet
The silence was not empty. I told you on August 13 that the MBA posted. Same stretch: the exam I failed in June because I rushed it, thirty-nine minutes used out of two hundred, then passed on the retake.
Waypoint is paused. I paused the company and the insurance with it on October 7. That is not a defeat lap and it is not a victory lap. It is the ledger.
What I Will Actually Do
I am not promising another two-thousand-word confession every week. That cadence died after April for a reason. Promising a daily streak tomorrow is how I talk myself into waiting for a perfect morning that never comes.
Shorter posts, more often. A few hundred words on a real number, a real session, a real failure, published before the week can negotiate me out of it. Faith when faith is the ledger. Fitness when the scale or the mat has something ugly to say. Tech when I actually built or broke something.
If you only see long silence again, call it. Accountability that only lives in my head is not accountability.
The Third Lift
This month marks about a year training with Tommy.
Monday and Wednesday mornings are on the calendar, in person, and that part has held. What has not held is the rest of the week. Tommy gives me the work for a third day at home. I have been treating it like optional homework.
Friday at home, his exercises, no negotiating. I have written that sentence before. March, when I was at 289 and still missing solo days. August, when the scale had already climbed and I still had tidy explanations. This is the third time I am putting the third day in writing. The third time is either the one that sticks or the one that proves I prefer the sentence to the session.
The Number
The scale has stalled around 315.
I started at 401. I got to 289 in March. In August I told you 314 and twenty-five pounds back on. Around 315 is still where I live. That is not a plateau I am going to romanticize. It is a stall with food and consistency written all over it.
In August I told you I had switched from Ozempic to Zepbound. I owe you a clean number on that, because I almost gave you a messy one. Ozempic doses run 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2 mg. Zepbound runs 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, and 15 mg. I had the two pens mixed up in my head. I was on 10 mg. I am moving to 12.5 and staying there for three months.
Dose changes are between me and my clinician. This is not medical advice. It is me refusing to publish a confused number on a site that runs on ugly specifics.
The diet is getting a harder push. No meal plan here. Tommy handles the iron. The scale is still arithmetic, and arithmetic does not care how good the story is.
The Bots
This is also the first stretch where I am using AI agents for my life, not just for drafting a post.
The line on this site still holds. Written by me. Processed through Claude. What is new is a small set of bots pointed at the lanes I actually live in: faith, health, work, threat intel, and this blog.
I am naming them so you know what is in the room. I am not announcing an empire. If the bots become a way to look busy instead of a way to finish the Tuesday work, that failure goes on the page too.
The thinking stays mine. The numbers stay mine. The obedience stays mine.
This Month
Later this month I am in Aurora for ISC2 Security Congress. A workshop on the twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth, From Zero to Security Bot. A session on the twenty-seventh, 73 Fraud Cases Later. That is work I can put my name on. It is not a substitute for the page, the third lift, or the ordinary Monday.
This week I publish this. I lift Monday and Wednesday with Tommy and Friday at home. I keep prayer and the Word in the early window that already owns it.
Fifty-five days of quiet. That ends with a page, a third lift, and a dose number I stopped muddling.
The gap was getting loud. I would rather answer it in public than let it keep answering for me.
